In a statement on Monday, Ogboji said at no point was there a suspension or expulsion at Umudomi Ward and urged the general public to disregard the rumour.

The state chairman of the APC, Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha, on Sunday, announced Ago-Eze’s expulsion from the party over allegations of misconduct.

Reacting, Ogboji described the decision of the party leadership in the state as an illegality and an abuse of the party’s constitutional process.

The statement read in part, “Let me categorically state that the rumours of her suspension/expulsion are all false as such has never happened in Umudomi Ward.

“The matter is in Appeal Court and we have received an Appeal Court injunction to that effect, restraining us from suspending anybody until the matter is determined by the court.

“I urge the general public to disregard such rumours, as Umudomi Ward of APC is peace-loving.”
