Governor Chukwuma Soludo has staked N10 million for anyone with information that will lead to the arrest of those who killed and beheaded Okechukwu Okoye, a state House of Assembly member, and Cyril Chiegboka, director of his campaign organisation.
Condemning the gruesome murder and beheadings, “The Governor has consequently placed a N10 million reward for anyone or group that will avail valuable information that will lead to the immediate arrest of the perpetrators of this dastardly act.”
A statement by Christian Aburime, Chief Press Secretary to Mr Soludo, said the governor was saddened by the news of the murders, and while condoling with his kinsmen of Isuofia, noted that “it is probably the same criminal gang that attacked him and killed three policemen at Isuofia two years ago that are once again on the prowl.”
The heads of Messrs Okoye and Chiegboka were discovered around Chisco park junction in Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area on Saturday.
Mr Okoye, who hailed from Isuofia in Aguata LGA, the same community as the governor, represented Aguata II Constituency at the state assembly. He and Mr Chiegboka were abducted on May 15 by yet to be identified persons.
Mr Soludo said his administration will soon make Anambra uncomfortable for criminal elements, assuring residents that “Anambra will win against the forces of darkness,” and urged the people to “brace up for the all out war against the criminals.”
