It is awards season in Wizkid’s camp this November.

His groundbreaking single “Essence” featuring Tems has bagged the Soul Train Award in the “Best Collaboration” category.

Wizkid and Tems were nominated for 5 awards at this year’s Soul Train Awards.
Wizkid was nominated for Album of the Year with Made in Lagos while Tems was nominated for the Best New Artist Award.

Their hit single was nominated for the Song of The Year, Video of The Year, The Ashford and Simpson songwriter’s award, and Best Collaboration for the global statement “Essence,” which they eventually won.

The Soul Train Awards 2021 was recorded at the Apollo Theatre in New York on November 20 but was aired on BET channel on Sunday night, November 28.

It was hosted by Tichina Arnold and Tisha Campbell and showcased stunning performances from several artists.

In 2020, Wizkid won the Soul Train award in the video category for Brown Skin, along with Beyonce, Blue Ivy.
